Kim Brumber is a nonprofit consultant and community volunteer.  Kim currently volunteers with the Trevor Project, the Out Alliance, and Rainbow Seniors ROC. She is a former nonprofit executive and business owner.    

Kim has done full time consulting (and volunteering) focused on the areas of executive coaching for individuals and teams, board development and governance, strategic planning, and program development, sustainability, and assessment, since leaving East House, Inc. in May of 2022. Kim has worked in areas of neighborhood and city revitalization, community development, real estate development, supportive housing, homelessness, senior issues, LGBTQ+ programs, early childhood learning, federal reentry centers, mental health treatment, and substance use disorder treatment. 

Kim served as President and CEO of three organizations over a span of 24 years. She began her career with a 17-year career at NeighborWorks Community Partners, followed by three years at Volunteers of America Upstate New York, and three years with East House Corporation.  Kim has spent more than thirty years working in various aspects of the real estate industry, including twenty years as a private real estate investor and landlord, redeveloping dilapidated properties in the city of Rochester. During her career she led a merger of five organizations, is known for driving organizational growth and creating sustainable business approaches, as well as turning around failing entities. 

Kim has been a presenter on market-based revitalization strategies at the New York State Conference of Mayors, Main Street Conference; The New York State Credit Union League’s Annual Conference; and other venues. In addition, she served on the Board of Directors for Partners Ending Homelessness - the Rochester Monroe Homeless Continuum of Care, a board member for the New York State Council for Community Behavioral Health, a board member for the New York NeighborWorks Alliance, a board member for the boards of the Finger Lakes Independent Practice Association and Your Health Partners Independent Practice Association, board member and President at the Gay Alliance of the Genesee Valley, and board member and President of the Western NY Volleyball Officials Association. Kim is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+, women’s, and children’s rights.
